Description
The Review is a weekly community newspaper that was established in Vankleek Hill, Ontario in 1893. For more than 117 years, The Review has faithfully served the communities of Eastern Ontario & Western Quebec. Since The Revie first newspaper hit the newsstands, we have reported on the news, events, sports and agriculture to keep our communities of hard-working families and neighbours well-informed and entertained
Recognizing the transforming influence of the Internet we have created an interactive, online connection to our citizens that has helped everyone to stay connected to their hometowns instantly. Our digital edition is available online every Tuesday evening and our newspaper is printed and delivered on Wednesday.
The Review has been online since 1996 and in 2009 www.thereview.on.ca was recognized by the Canadian Newspaper Association as being amongst Canada’s top three best websites, within the category of community newspapers.
During that same year we launched a new website, www.thereview.ca, which affords us the opportunity to provide more in-depth coverage, photos, sideshows, videos and online publications. We publish seasonal tourism publications, such as the Visitor Guide and Winter Fun & Recreation and also work closely with community radio stations.
In 2009, The Review also launched an online community-based business directory. This bilingual community, called www.reviewbizlist.com provides many free and paid services to promote business, social and community events. No other service in the area offers a bilingual and all-inclusive directory to serve our culturally diverse region.
The Review covers over 150-square- kilometres of news and events and has an online readership that spans the world. Our newspaper is available throughout Canada and the United States and maintains its core clientele in Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec.
Hours of work
Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Locations
The Review is located in scenic Vankleek Hill, Ontario. We are located within a one hour drive of both Ottawa and Montreal.
